AGES BETWEEN 5 – 10 YEARS
Children are not only good observers; they learn easily and quickly imitate what they see. We do not underestimate a child’s ability to understand the fundamental teachings of the bible through story-telling, children’s movies, songs and other essential activities which will help them to develop a love relationship with the Lord. In order for these kids to have a firm and good doctrinal foundation, we introduce to them historical events. My eight years of experience in teaching Sunday School Children so passionately about the Lord Jesus Christ has heavily bolstered me to keep working with these young folks. We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord Psalms 78:4.
The best we could ever do for our kids as parents are to bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We are told in Proverbs 22:6 to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
As parents, we should be vigilant in safeguarding our children from the wrong information they are being fed from different avenues, whether from educational institutions, the community or the media.
Children start to show aggressive behaviours because they have been left exposed to onscreen media violence at an early age. The child’s early development is so important that it needs to be taught the way of the Lord. “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it. And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:14-15).
